Torsion vs. Extension Springs

Torsion springs mount above the door opening and use rotational force to lift the door. They run smoother, last longer, and are standard on most newer Lexington homes. Extension springs run along the side tracks and stretch as the door closes. They’re common on older homes and need safety cables in case one breaks. We replace both, and we can convert extension systems to torsion.
